Record 895 I have several pictures of the YR9 and APL46. I was on the YR9 and went to pick up the APL 46 when it came into country from PI. I was part of the crew which cleaned it up to take it to Vhin long. I was a EM=3 working with EM-1 koon out of the shop to repair the PBR'S. Would like to hear from some of the guys. More later.

I was with NSA Vinh Long from 3 May 67 to 3 December 68. I was there for Tet, the arrivial of YR 9 and then YRBM 20. I was part of the engine repair shop along with many other jobs over the time I was there. When I left the 9 and 20 were still tied together at Vinh Long.

Record 957 I arived in Vinh Long around Apr 68'. Served as patrol Boat Coaxwine on the LCMs and also on the Pusher boats when the APL-46 arived. I was aboard when Hanoi Hanna said her Charlie's were going to sink us to the bottom of the river in late 68, I believe. Both bardges were still aflote in April of 69' when I left country. I tried to stay out of the Military when I got back from Vietnam but instead decided to become a "career man" in 1973 (USCG-ret). I have been looking for some of these guys for a very long time but just never knew where to look. Thank Goodness for the internet and your web site or I would never have found them. I served with three guys (Ron, Rick, and Steve) that I have since contacted, but am still looking for NEWMAN (my best friend), REARDON (my engineer)and anyone who knew JAMES(?) SANDER (a Navy Seal I played guitar with on occasion). I understood he was killed in Siagon while on his way home (non-hostil injury) and am still looking to confirm or affirm this romor. I have a photo I can send (with him and his pet snake called Charlie) to anyone who can help me find out more. I KNOW that his last name is Sander (James I am not as sure). I need to go to the Wall some day, but will not go until I am sure I do not pass him up, if he is there. I will update this entry when I find out more. God bless you all.
